HydraFacial – Non Invasive Facial Rejuvenation Treatment

*This article is for educational purposes only and accurate as of October 2014. It does not form medical advice and does not relate to any treatments performed at Advanced Dermatology. Whilst we have evaluated the machine, we do not perform HydraFacial treatment.

The HydraFacial is a process for the skin in which resurfacing takes place. The process will exfoliate the skin, cleanse the skin, and hydrate while extracting the pores of the skin. This non-invasive procedure gives instant results and has no downtime or discomfort. Hydrated skin looks healthy and radiant, which is a result that hydra facial will give. The relaxing treatment will polish the skin, making it look clean and refined. HydraFacial is safe for all skin types and skin colours.

How does the HydraFacial work?

There are four steps to the hydra facial treatment. In the first step, the skin will be cleansed and exfoliated. A small tool will be used to open up the pores and sweep dead skin cells away. Many compare it to a small rotating toothbrush on the skin. In the second step, a glycolic acid peel is applied. This peel is very gentle and will not sting or burn like most glycolic acid peels do. Step three involves extraction of the pores. A vortex-extraction nozzle acts like a vacuum, sucking out material in the skin that clog the pores. In step four, a vortex-fusion tool infuses a serum that is rich in antioxidants and collagen. This serum will promote hydration and elasticity.

How long does HydraFacial take?

HydraFacial is a treatment that is safe, fast and effective. The process can take as little as 15 minutes. There is not any pain associated with the treatment. Many state it feels like a paintbrush is moving over the face. No downtime will be needed after the procedure is done, and makeup can be worn right away.

Who are good candidates for HydraFacial?

Those who are good candidates for HydraFacial include most individuals. This treatment was designed for even the most sensitive skin. Individuals that want polished refined skin should try a hydra facial treatment. Those with sunburned or wind burned skin should wait until the skin has healed first before treatment has begun.

What skin conditions does HydraFacial treat?

HydraFacial treats lines and wrinkles, evens out skin tone and helps to eliminate clogged pores and enlarged pores. Sun damaged skin and hyperpigmentation can also benefit from hydra facial. The quality of the skin will be improved, thus making it healthier. Individuals with active acne will see an improvement in skin, as will those with dry and ageing skin. Oily or congested skin and individuals with rosacea or fine lines and wrinkles can benefit from having a HydraFacial done.

Are there any side effects associated with HydraFacials?

Slight redness and tight skin can be seen after a treatment, however, they will only last for an hour or two after the treatment. Cold compresses can help to alleviate this. Risk of scarring the skin is very minimal.

How many treatments will be needed? How soon are results seen? How long do results last?

For best results with a HydraFacial, a series of treatments should be done. It is gentle enough on the skin to have the procedure performed once a month. Four treatments are often recommended to see the best results, scheduled one week apart. From there, a monthly maintenance treatment should be given. After just one treatment, many individuals will see results. Results will typically last 5 to 7 days, maybe even longer on individuals.

How much does HydraFacial cost?

The cost of a HydraFacial will vary. Varying factors include how many treatments are performed on an individual, as well as if other treatments are used in conjunction with HydraFacial.

I have had a hydra facial before and the results were amazing. My skin felt so clean and soft! The pores were really cleaned out. I wanted a skin treatment that I could use before my sister’s wedding and my dermatologist recommended this. I had the treatment done two days before the wedding and my skin looked fantastic. I glowed! My skin did look refined and polished. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a treatment that will show results fast!

I am very interested now in having a hydra facial done. I love that it shows results fast. I have very dry skin. I would love to increase the moisture a bit and just make my skin glow. I think that I will look into having a series done. I deserve to have great looking skin after dealing with dry skin most of my life!

I did a series of the hydra facial because I have very oily skin that just makes my pores congested. I will say that it really cleaned out the pores. I have maintenance treatments done every month like stated, and my face has never looked or felt better. I feel that my pores are no longer clogged with all the debris that they once were. My skin feels clean and looks refreshed after a treatment, and it last for up to a week. And then before I know it, it is time to do a maintenance treatment. It is a small price for me to pay every month to have skin that is radiant and polished. I have even come to the conclusion that I don’t need as much makeup as I once did! I love what hydra facial can do for me, and I am sure that you will love it too.

I decided to first try hydra facial after I saw so many celebs have tried it. Did you know that Paris Hilton, Beyonce, Kate Winslet and Eva Mendes have all had this treatment done? They all have beautiful skin and if they accredit it to a hydra facial, I wanted to be on board with that. Kate just has gorgeous skin to me, and if it worked on her, I wanted to see if it worked on me. And guess what? I was impressed with the results. My skin has never looked better! My pores are smaller as they are not congested with a bunch of stuff, and my skin has the hydration that it needs. I would recommend this to anyone that needs to save their skin!

I wanted to add to this article about what I know about hydra facial from the information my dermatologist gave me. If a patient has been treated for severe acne with isotretinoin, they will not be able to be treated with a hydra facial for 12 months after stopping the isotretinoin. If there are skin infections, such a cold sore, the skin will not be treated either.
That being said, I want everyone to know that I was not disappointed with my treatment of hydra facial. I did a series of 6 treatments that were spaced out a week and a half apart, and then go in for a maintenance treatment every two months. I am happy with how my skin is turning out and it seems to me that each time I do a maintenance treatment, my skin just looks better. This treatment has given me more confidence in how I look, and has made my skin look younger, radiant, soft. I rate this procedure as a 10 as it gave lasting results that keep building on each other.
