The Fractional CO2 Laser is a sophisticated, minimally invasive procedure designed to deliver precise laser energy to the skin. This treatment creates controlled microthermal zones, initiating a robust wound healing response that stimulates collagen production and promotes the natural restructuring of the skin.
The CO2 Laser Treatment effectively addresses:
The Fractional CO2 Laser operates by delivering precisely fractionated laser beams that create microscopic treatment zones within the skin. These microthermal zones penetrate both the epidermis and dermis, initiating controlled micro-injuries that trigger the body’s natural healing response. This process stimulates the production of collagen, a critical protein responsible for skin’s structural integrity, leading to significant improvements in skin texture, firmness, and elasticity. The laser also generates a thermal effect that immediately tightens existing collagen fibres while promoting the synthesis of new collagen, resulting in progressive and long-lasting skin rejuvenation.
Additionally, the treatment exfoliates the superficial layer of the skin, effectively removing damaged cells and unveiling a healthier, more radiant complexion. The treatment’s depth and intensity can be precisely adjusted to target both superficial and deep-seated skin concerns, ensuring a tailored approach that maximises efficacy while minimising thermal damage to surrounding tissues. This advanced technology ensures superior results with minimal downtime, making it a trusted and versatile option for addressing a wide range of dermatological conditions.

How long do CO2 Laser results last?
CO2 Laser delivers long-lasting improvements in skin texture, tone and fine lines that most patients enjoy for many years. The collagen renewal triggered by the treatment builds gradually and the results continue to refine over months. To preserve your results long-term, the most important factors are daily broad-spectrum SPF and a consistent skincare routine.
How many CO2 Laser sessions will I need?
Most patients see significant results from a single intensive CO2 Laser session, which typically requires 7–14 days of social downtime. For those preferring shorter recovery, 2–3 lighter treatments spaced 3–6 months apart can deliver comparable improvement. Your clinician will recommend the right approach during your consultation based on your skin concerns, lifestyle and recovery preferences.
How long is the recovery from CO2 Laser?
Recovery time depends on treatment intensity. Lighter fractional CO2 sessions typically involve 3–5 days of redness, mild swelling and flaking. Deeper, more intensive treatments may require 7–14 days of social downtime as the skin regenerates. Most patients return to work and normal activities within a week, with full healing and final results appearing over the following weeks as new collagen forms.
Is CO2 Laser safe?
CO2 Laser resurfacing is a well-established, dermatology-grade treatment refined over decades. As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks — including temporary redness, swelling, prolonged downtime, infection, or pigmentation changes — which will be discussed in detail during your consultation. Performed by experienced practitioners on suitable candidates, CO2 Laser has a strong safety profile and consistent, predictable outcomes.
Who is CO2 Laser most suitable for?
CO2 Laser is ideal for patients with moderate to advanced skin concerns including fine lines and deeper wrinkles, acne and surgical scars, uneven texture and tone, sun damage, pigmentation, and skin laxity around the eyes and mouth. It works best on fair to medium skin tones in patients in good general health. CO2 Laser is not generally recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for those with a history of keloid scarring, recent isotretinoin use within 6 months, or for Fitzpatrick V–VI skin types due to a higher risk of pigmentation changes. A consultation will confirm your suitability.
